Sprinting With Cheetahs

Sounds like a blast doesn't it?

Imagine yourself lined up at your alma mater high school track, going toe to toe with a couple of the fastest land animals on earth.  Week after week you would make your way back to the track to test out your "cheetah" legs again - seeing if you can just get one step closer.

About three years ago, Olympian Usain Bolt of Jamaica set a world record for the fastest 100-meter dash, clocking in at an impressive 9.58 seconds -- impressive for a human, that is. But when compared to an 11-year-old cheetah named Sarah who was recently given her own chance to seize that mantel, the speediest member of our species seemed more like an old tortoise than a speedy jackrabbit.

Sarah the cheetah rocked the 100-meter dash in 5.95 seconds -- the fastest time ever recorded.

Now, most of us don't have access to a cheetah, and NONE of us would ever come close to competing with one.  But that is not the point.

If you want to get better at something, you have to train with people that are better than you.  If you're always "sticking with the routine" instead of going outside your comfort zone, you'll never excel to that next level in any area of your life.

Many times in our industry, we have people that want results but they are unwilling to train with somebody better because of some ego-driven fear of losing.  Get over it.

People at the top of their game in business, relationships, fitness, health, or happiness are there for a reason.  They found people better than them and studied them.  They worked alongside them.  The were brought back down to earth by somebody who dwarfed their current condition.  This is how these people became great.

They set their feelings aside and got real with where they wanted to go.  They realized that if you want to sprint like a cheetah, you're going to have to train with cheetahs.  Usain Bolt would not be the fastest human on earth if he didn't train with the fastest people on earth.  Mark Cuban would not be the charismatic, out-going billionaire we all know today without the plethora of mentors and coaches to help him get to the next level.

You see, you need that extra push.  YOU WILL STAY THE SAME IF YOU DO THE SAME THINGS.

-So you want to get your first pull-up at TFW-South Metro??  Stop complaining about not being able to do 1 and find somebody that can!  Then start training with them!

-So you want to eat healthier?? Ask people who are eating healthy how they did it!  Then do it!

-So you want to make more money??  Find somebody who makes 100X more money than you and study them!  Then do it!

It's not rocket science folks - it's purely the power of association.  Look at your situation right now.  If you're not where you want to be in your fitness, health, relationships, wealth or happiness, there is a very good chance your closest associations share the same stigma.

We believe you can do it.  You got to believe you can do it too.

So - are you ready to sprint with the cheetahs??
